Tasmanians who made new year’s resolutions to shed weight and get fit are likely to fall off the wagon, says a public health doctor. While people vow to lead a more active lifestyle, Dr Kelly Shaw said research showed there was a relapse rate of more than 90 per cent.
The term relapse rate should probably be used more. It implies that the normal state of affairs is an active healthy lifestyle. — Ed.
